How to Encourage Productivity with a Clean Office

An untidy and cluttered working environment will reduce your determination to get work done whereas a clean office is likely to increase productivity and enthusiasm. Office cleaning is quite similar to home cleaning as it involves a lot of the same cleaning methods and produces great results. To test the theory that a clean and clutter free office will encourage productivity, follow these simple guidelines and reap the benefits.

Wall Paint
The colour of your office walls effects your mind more than you might think. Studies have constantly proven that a more calming and natural colour on all four walls will make you feel more relaxed and at ease, therefore resulting in more work being carried out. Never paint your office walls a harsh colour because this will make working there more difficult and cause distractions, stress and possible anxiety in the more severe cases.

Wall Space
If you are lacking in office space it is a good idea to make the most out of the walls. If you can, install some useful shelves to store your books, folders and other important things in your office. Keep the shelves as tidy as possible and once you are finished with something from the shelf, return it to help maintain a clean and tidy working environment.

Carpet Cleaners
Carpet cleaning in the office can be slightly more difficult to carry out that it is at home because where are you going to find the time to get down on your knees and scrub stains with a damp cloth? Luckily there are options such as cleaning companies and cleaning contractors who will come and clean your office carpets. This is the less time consuming option but you will need to remove any office furniture to give the professional cleaners plenty of space to get around and clean every inch of the room.

Clear Desktop
A clean desktop is important if you want to get your work done properly. A messy desk will make finding any room to work from more difficult. Keep a trash can close to your desk so you can throw out your rubbish and make sure that your desk is clear each time you leave the office for the night. Keep important files and documents in separate folders to help keep a better track of your various projects. You can then store these folders on your shelves or away in file cabinets.

Organization is Key
The trick to a constantly clean office is to stay organized no matter what. Give everything its place and keep it there! When it comes to stationary, use pen holders and trays to hold your things in a tidier manner. Dividers inside your desk drawer will help with the clean up as everything will stay in its place and not get lost in the clutter. If you want to make things even easier for yourself then you can try using labels on your folders and boxes so that you know where everything is and can easily relocate the item again in the future.

Clean Electronics
It can be hard to avoid crumbs and dust particles falling on our keyboards at work which is why you should keep a packet of wipes close at hand. There are special electronic wipes that you can buy which are perfect for washing monitors and keyboards without causing any damage. Keep germs at bay by wiping over your computer at least twice a week and avoid eating or drinking over your keyboard to avoid any unfortunate spills.
